Causes:

Lack of oil / low oil pressure

Using non-original filters

Signs: metallic knocking from above, loss of power

Typical problems:

Leaking or clogged injectors

Worn fuel injection pump

Air locks

Especially in versions with unit injectors (PDE)

Common:

Through the front and rear crankshaft seals

Through the valve cover

From the turbocharger (if installed)

6. Cracks in the cylinder head

Occur due to overheating or long-term driving on an overloaded car
