1. Turbocharger (VGT) wear and seizure
Causes: contamination, bad oil, geometry actuator malfunction.
Signs: loss of thrust, boost errors, smoking.
Solution: cleaning geometry, checking electric drive, changing oil/turbine.
2. Misfires and loss of power
Causes: injector wear (EUI/XPI), air leaks, bad fuel.
Signs: vibrations, unstable operation, black smoke.
Solution: checking and calibrating injectors, replacing filters.
3. Engine overheating
Causes: thermostat failure, radiator contamination, water pump malfunction.
Signs: high temperature, emergency mode.
Solution: replacing thermostat, flushing cooling system, diagnosing pump.
4. Clogged EGR system
Causes: carbon deposits, bad fuel, short trips.
Signs: loss of power, EGR errors, uneven operation.
Solution: cleaning the EGR valve and pipes, disabling on the firmware (illegal).
5. Malfunctions in the SCR (AdBlue) system
Causes: urea crystallization, pump or sensor failure.
Signs: NOx errors, power limitation, inability to start.
Solution: flushing the AdBlue system, replacing the injector or pump, reprogramming the dosing unit.
6. Oil consumption and soot deposits
Causes: wear of oil scraper rings, clogged breather, problems with the turbine.
Signs: increased oil consumption, black exhaust.
Solution: diagnostics of the cylinder-piston group, checking the crankcase gas pressure.
7. CAN bus and EMS unit errors
Causes: damaged wires, connector oxidation, software failures.
Signs: communication failure with sensors, unstable operation of the ECU.
Solution: wiring test, CAN diagnostics, software update.
