Volvo D12 Engine, Typical Problems
1. EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) problems
Symptoms: Loss of power, black smoke, emissions errors
Cause: Clogged EGR valve or dirty intake manifold
Solution: Clean/replace EGR, update ECU firmware (if applicable)
2. VGT (variable geometry) turbocharger wear or failure
Symptoms: Slow acceleration, boost pressure error, turbo whistle
Cause: Jammed geometry blades, carbon deposits
Solution: Clean or replace turbo
3. Fuel leaks from unit injectors
Symptoms: Poor starting, fuel smell, fuel in oil
