🔧 Engine and fuel system
Clogged EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) system:
Symptoms: loss of power, smoke, environmental errors.
Cause: carbon deposits and contamination of valves.
Worn injectors (especially on D13 engines):
Signs: difficult starting, unstable engine operation, excessive fuel consumption.
Cause: low-quality fuel or high mileage.
Turbo problems:
Often associated with oil starvation or bearing wear.
Oil or antifreeze leaks:
Can be caused by aging gaskets, especially at high mileage.
⚙️ Transmission and clutch
I-Shift (automatic transmission):
Possible failures in electronic control, especially if the harnesses are damaged.
Clutch wear is a common problem after 600–800 thousand km.
Gear shift fork defects:
Sometimes "thoughtfulness" or failures during shifting are observed.
💡 Electronics
CAN bus glitches and control unit failures:
Can manifest themselves in the form of "circuit errors", inability to start.
Instrument panel problems:
Flickering, shutdown, errors due to oxidized contacts or voltage drops.
Batteries and charging:
Generator wear, especially after 700 thousand km; weak charging current.
🚛 Suspension, frame and brakes
Wear of jet rod bushings, shock absorbers:
Manifests itself in cabin rocking, vibration when driving.
Problems with air suspension:
Leaks in the lines, wear of the compressor or level sensors.
ABS/ESP errors:
Often caused by damage to the sensors on the hubs or wiring.
🛠 Other common faults
Leaking cabin heater (stove).
Rusting of the exhaust system, especially at the connections.
Wear of the cabin silent blocks, especially the rear
